Bloatware, or pre-installed apps, is the amount of apps that are pre-installed on the device. These apps can be anything from carrier specific apps, to those from specific manufacturers.
Some Verizon customers are wondering how to remove the Verizon bloatware that is installed on their phone. I will show you how to do that, and help you to remove it.
What Is Verizon Bloatware In 2022?
Verizon is one of the biggest bloatware providers on your device, and not needed for the device to run properly as it drains your battery life and prevents the use of other apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and more.
It might be possible that DT Ignite app is needed by Verizon to give you a good quality of service and prevent network drops, but it can install other bloatware apps with your permission without your knowledge.
Verizon is making it easier and easier to get rid of their bloatware on your phone, and they’re even having a giveaway to motivate you to do just that.

The list of preinstalled apps on your phone is huge, with apps from Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. It’s a mess. It’s full of redundant apps, some with unnecessary features, and others that can really annoy you.

You can also do a complete wipe of the phone and restore it to factory default settings to get rid of any bloatware that might be hiding in the system.
Should I Disable or Remove Verizon Bloatware?
If you’re sure you’ll never use a Verizon phone again then go ahead and uninstall the apps. If you’re not sure, keep the apps as a backup just in case you do need to use the device in the future.
If you see any other apps you feel should be removed, use the apps list and the app info menu to help determine if the app should be removed.
It doesn’t disable the app from running in the background, and it won’t use any RAM, so it’s a good option if you just want to get rid of it all for now.
These apps are required to run the phone, but you, or a third party, might have installed an app that has installed them. These apps, or apps with dependencies, become part of the device’s operating system. This is how applications can be so easily disabled, if the user so desires.
If you are not sure if the app is necessary for the phone to work properly, then you cannot uninstall it, as that would cause problems with the operating system. You should probably just leave it as it is and not try to uninstall it.
How Do I Get Rid of Verizon Bloatware?
1) Open up a web browser
2) Go to Settings>Device Updates>View Updates
3) Scroll down to the Verizon section and choose the last option, “Never show updates.”
Now, you can keep your device running smoothly with this app without having to worry about bloatware.
In the case of a Verizon phone, you can use the following guide to simply delete the Verizon bloatware from your device.
For example: Android users often can disable/uninstall any app by going to Settings > Apps > Permissions > the app > Uninstall. Apple iOS users must go to Settings > General > Restrictions > Uninstall.
In any case, I generally have a system that allows me to select different apps and switch between them on a whim.
You can do a factory reset of your device to remove the apps that you don’t want.
You can get these apps installed separately if you are upgrading to a new device, but we only recommend downloading apps in the place where they are sold, and not in some other place.
So, if your device allows you to choose which apps come preinstalled, it’s going to help you find the bloatware apps and remove them quicker and easier.
