Why Doesn’t Kroger Accept Google Pay & Samsung Pay?
The pilot program included a number of contactless payment options such as Apple Pay, EMV chip cards, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
As for the reason behind Kroger’s decision to eliminate coupons, this is done to enhance the ease of checkout for customers.
The trial allowed the chain to experiment with a new store-centric app, and it will be used as a store-only option while the company tests the service.
 However, after introducing its own mobile payment platform, Visa has discontinued most of the other mobile/contactless payment forms, including Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Apple Pay at all its stores.
How Does Kroger Pay Work?
Kroger has launched an in-house mobile payment solution called Kroger Pay. It securely combines shoppers’ payment and loyalty card information to process payments.
You should request the cashier to process your payment and then request them to generate a one time quick response code.
You can now pay with Kroger Pay. You don?t need your loyalty card and PIN anymore. When you buy something, it will be registered automatically to your loyalty card.
You can use Kroger Pay to save cash, get cashback or earn cash.
What Other Contactless Payment Methods Does Kroger Accept?
You can use your smartphone to pay at Kroger at checkout. The app will guide you through the transaction.
Kroger accepts debit/credit cards, including American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.
What Stores Accept Google Pay & Samsung Pay?
Google Pay and Samsung Pay are both NFC based mobile payment services, but use slightly different technologies. Both services allow consumers to pay for items without using physical contact. Both services also allow contactless payments to work from a distance, and both services can read/write contactless cards.
Samsung Pay is a service provided by Samsung; to use Google Pay, you must use an Android phone (although all android phones are capable of using Google Pay).

Krogers is a national supermarket. In August 2020, Krogers piloted a test for Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other contactless payment methods in 61 stores under its QFC division in Washington, but it currently only accepts Kroger Pay, EBT/SNAP cards, and the Scan, Bag, Go technology under contactless forms of payment.
