Companies around the world are coming up with various dress codes for their staff. It is always a good strategy to help employees identify one another more easily and help create greater unity in the workplace.
If you are applying for a job at CVS or recently was hired, you may be wondering what CVS’s dress code is. Here is everything I’ve found out.
CVS Dress Code In 2022
the CVS employee dress code involves black or tan colored pants with a CVS shirt for cashiers and front-of-store employees. Pharmacy technicians wear hospital scrubs whereas pharmacists wear business casual clothing under their lab coats. Employees must wear neutral shoes and a nametag.
If you want to know how to dress for your next CVS interview, whether it’s for a job in a retail store, pharmacy technician, or a delivery driver, or if your job is more behind the scenes, keep reading!
What Is The Uniform For CVS Employees?
While a cashier might wear the “standard” uniform, the front-of-store employees, including floor associates and managers, do not wear these shirts nor do they wear the shoes or pants. Instead, they wear business casual attire, consisting of gray, khaki or navy colored pants, open-toe shoes and a polo shirt. However, they do wear black shoes and a tie.
Because the shirts vary in color, the most common colors are either dark blue or red.
Furthermore, pharmacy technicians that work at the pharmacy wear hospital scrubs, and pharmacists wear business casual attire underneath lab coats.
I don’t think that applies if the name tag is a company name.
What Should I Wear To An Interview At CVS?
As for the interviews, most candidates wore their typical interview attire.
Your first impression is very important since it affects your chances of getting the job. Dress appropriately for the job and make sure you wear a suit for your interview.
Can CVS Employees Wear Shorts?
CVS employees wear business attire because it helps them interact with customers in an appropriate manner.
However, in some countries, such as Canada, employees may be required to wear business or formal pants while in the workplace.
Can CVS Employees Wear Jeans?
Although CVS is a drugstore, it seems a bit lenient with what is acceptable on the job. Some managers of CVS stores are more lax than others in the way they enforce the dress code.
Employees are only allowed to wear trousers made from natural fibers such as cotton.
Can CVS Employees Wear Hoodies?
CVS employees are allowed to wear fleeces, jackets, and cardigans during the winter months when there is snow.
It is allowed to zipl your hoodie for cold months, as long as the name tag is placed outside the hoodie.
What you can’t do, however, is zip-up the hood part of the hoodie.
During the winter, you should check with your colleagues or store manager about hoodies and jackets so you can find out if they are allowed.
What Shoes Can CVS Employees Wear?
All employees are expected to wear standard attire that includes slacks and a long sleeve shirt. Employees are asked to dress comfortably, but also to wear shoes that are closed-toed and of neutral color.
I would say that any open-toed shoes are prohibited across all CVS stores. I do not know how much of this is true. I have never seen any of this. I have heard this from other people, though.
It should go without saying that many employees wear sneakers to work. However, the more lenient the employer, the more they prefer sneakers without laces.
Can CVS Employees Dye Their Hair In Different Colours?
The employees have reported different reactions to the unnatural colors of the hair.
This should not be construed as an indication that the Company does not recognize the right to change the color of hair. It is simply a recognition that the requirement of uniformity of color for natural colors is unrealistic and may be difficult to maintain in the face of the changing fashion trends of today.
The updated policy on the employer side is that you cannot wear a uniform with your company name.
Can CVS Employees Have Visible Tattoos?
CVS doesn’t have a formal policy regarding visible tattoos. Most of the employees that I’ve talked to don’t really care about them one way or the other. At the store, the general manager’s office, and the pharmacy, I have talked to, the employees seemed fairly unconcerned about visible tattoos.
So you may not have to cover up if you don’t have an offensive tattoo, just be aware that it may be harder to interview and get the job.
Can CVS Employees Have Ear Piercings?
The CVS store managers are advising customers to wear minimal jewelry that fits within their earlobes or small hoops.
Some store workers and the company may be aware of the benefits of having body piercings.
Can CVS Employees Have Facial Piercings?
CVS has a set of rules that employees are expected to follow and they are not supposed to get facial piercings.
It’s very easy to assume this is a common knowledge, but stores can have different attitude towards these policies. Contact your store manager to clear confusion.
Can CVS Employees Wear Artificial Nails?
There may be rules that stop certain employees from wearing all nail polish but there is no rule in place that stops employees from wearing artificial nails or nail polish.
The other three questions are similar and follow the same pattern.
However, artificial nails should be kept at a reasonable length so that employees can perform their tasks effectively.

CVS employees are required to wear a polo shirt and closed-toe shoes. A CVS tee-shirt is also available for use by employees as an accessory, but it is not mandatory. If the CVS employee wants to wear a shirt with the CVS logo on it, he or she is eligible.
Different job roles have different dress codes. Pharmacy technicians wear hospital scrubs while pharmacists wear business casual under their lab coats.
In some stores, facial hair is only allowed on special occasions. In others, you can get away with it all day every day.
