Cashiers will need to scan appropriate proof of purchase such as the original paper receipt, a digitally logged receipt, or a return barcode generated from Target.com. Cashiers will also need to present a valid Target Card or Target Gift Card.
You’ll have to bring along a valid government-issued photo ID to prove who you are since the Target store will use it to verify your details against the receipt.

Please note that for refunds to be successful, the item must be returned in the original condition as sold.
It is not a refund of the shipping fee that you paid.
If you want something else, you can exchange it for something else, however, if the value of the new items exceeds the original product, you’ll need to pay the difference.
You can return baby formula at Target.com. Target also gives you the option to redeem the purchase at your local store.
You must request a return within 14 days of purchase. Visit your Target.com account to make your request. Select the item you are returning, and request ‘Return in-store.’ Your return must be postmarked within 14 days of purchase.
Once the return date is in place, click on the “Return to Store” button in the bottom left corner of the window.
You will receive a special store-only return barcode which you can print and then take to the customer services desk at the store.

The reason the formula is returnable for one year is you have to pay to have it shipped back in the form of a gift card. When the baby is out of diapers for one year, the formula will be the next thing returned as a gift.
