When it comes to grocery shopping, competition is fierce. Shoppers want to get the best bang for their buck but when they hear of stores offering just that but located further away, it can be pretty frustrating. If you’re currently a loyal member of a favorite store but feel like you’re being gouged, you can try comparing prices at other stores that are currently within the same vicinity to see if you can get a better deal than usual.
Aldi might be coming to the U.S.? That’s right. And the Las Vegas area might be that store’s first location?! Yes, that’s right. Aldi is coming to Vegas. You can already see that its social media accounts and pages are having a major impact on the U.S. grocery market.
Is Aldi Coming To Las Vegas Or Nevada In 2022?
Aldi has not announced that they would be opening any stores in Las Vegas, Nevada, however they are planning to focus on the Gulf Coast region, with their newest distribution center in Loxley, Alabama, as well as Florida and the Northeast.
Aldi has been considered as a potential destination in the Las Vegas area. While it has not been announced, it could have a store at one of the properties that could be for sale in the area. That said, there are a lot of other options in the Las Vegas area, and I will talk about some of the other ones in the article.
Why Isn’t Aldi Coming To Las Vegas?
The store in Las Vegas is the first in Nevada, while in the greater Los Angeles area, it is the only in-store Aldi, and the largest in the system.
The store in Gulfport is the only in Mississippi (and only in-store Aldi) and the largest in the system.
However, the New Orleans store has been the only location in the Gulf Coast region for some time: it opened in 1983.
The only one currently not open in the Gulf Coast is the one in Hattiesburg, Mississippi; it had been slated to open in 2012 but had been closed since 2012.
They plan to open a lot of stores in the Florida South West region. Besides Florida, they will open stores in Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.
while it’s true that the expansion has been a slow process thus far, it’s clear that it has started to quicken in the past several months and the company has some very promising long term goals for the future.
Where Could Aldi Open If They Did Come To Las Vegas?
All Aldi stores must be built in neighborhoods that have a population of at least 30,000 residents per 2.5 square miles, and must be located within a five-minute drive to a bus stop.
In this area you can go to several different stores. Henderson, Summerlin, North Las Vegas, these are good areas to shop. You can go to the other stores. But I want to get things for the family, so I buy all from the same store.
Do Shoppers Want Aldi In Las Vegas?
Shoppers in Nevada want Aldi in their area. One Facebook thread on Aldi USA’s page has over 100 comments begging Aldi to open up in the area.
I agree. If you’re stranded in Las Vegas without your favorite shopping outlet, please come to Las Vegas and shop at Aldis (sic) with us. I’m also a Florida Aldis (sic) shopper.
Aldi opened a store in Las Vegas, and as of right now, the store is incredibly busy.
What Aldi Alternatives Are There In Las Vegas?
After having no Aldi stores and also no supermarkets in Las Vegas, many are still looking for a good alternative.
Trader Joe’s has only five stores in Las Vegas, including the Henderson and Summerlin locations.
Trader Joe’s is a great place to go to because they sell a little bit of everything. The most important part of Trader Joe’s is their selection of gourmet food.
Costco is a great grocery store. It’s also a great warehouse when you go to buy a lot of random cheap food items, like the ones you find in Costco. It is a membership store in Vegas, so you have to pay for your membership every month if you want to shop in there.
Aldi is a competitive company in the German grocery market. Aldi has the ability to take on Trader Joe’s for groceries, but it won’t happen overnight.
Conclusion
The only problem for Aldi, and the reason why there are no signs there, is that there is a Walgreens and a CVS pharmacy just a few short blocks away from the Aldi Walmart. CVS is a fairly inexpensive pharmacy, and the Walgreens is the highest quality pharmacy in the area.
Perhaps Aldis will open stores in Texas and Arizona, as a result of their good relationships with two of the largest retail chains in those states. That would be an ideal situation, as Aldi would benefit from the exposure to a large region in a state that is still growing in its population.
