Verizon Cable Box Not Working In 2022
If your Verizon cable box is not working, unplug the cable box from the power outlet, wait a few minutes, make sure the cables are correctly connected and securely to the cable box, outlet, and television. The cables on your cable box need to be securely connected to the outlet and cable box.
This is likely one of the biggest reasons why this is happening. You will be in a position to be able to use your cable box for all of your viewing options, so don’t let Verizon take back over your box. This is one of the most important things you can do to prevent this from happening.
1. Unplug The Cable Box & Plug It Back In
If you have one of the older cable boxes the only way to refresh your CableCARD is to unplug the box and plug it back in. This is the case at my house. I have had to do this several times in the past for my cable. I was never able to get it to work the first time and I have since upgraded to the newest box so I don’t know if this is still necessary.
In addition, you will have to wait until the cable box has finished loading up before you try to use it again.
2. Make Sure The Cables Are Connected & Secure
Cables are running from the TV and power outlet to the cable box so check for a secure fit and make sure all cables are connected.
If using Ethernet connections to the Xbox One, it will look for the network on the local computer. If using a wireless network, it will look for the network on any device of the same SSID (network name). Make sure that you are connected to the network and that everything is plugged in correctly; there are no loose connectors or loose connections. If any of your cords are damaged, you will need to replace them before you can connect your Xbox One.
If you ever find the cord damaged, or it seems to be not working like it did before, then you should replace it or rewind the cord until it appears to function correctly.
3. Restart Your Router
If you want to fix a broken cable box on a router that isn’t working either, you can restart the cable box and possibly restart the router.
4. Check Your Power Outlets
You will want to make sure you have power going to the cable box or the television if you suspect there are issues with the cable box or television.
The electrical power adapter plugs into the wall to make sure the power is working properly, and into the socket on the surge protector if you’re using one.
5. Sync The Cable Box & TV Again
You can try to resync your cable box and television to fix the problem, which requires that you turn both the cable box and television off simultaneously.
If this still doesn’t work, you can also try turning it off and on again to try to fix the problem.
After this, it would be a good idea to have a chat with the cable company to see if they can help.
Additionally, you should leave both devices off for about two minutes, so the power drains the first time you turn it back on. While that happens, you can turn your television back on, and it should fix the issue.
6. Ensure HDMI Source Is Correct
You have the cable connected to HDMI 1, but the cable box is connected to HDMI 2. Make sure that you’re connecting to the correct HDMI source.
7. Check For Verizon Outages
If there are any outages in your area you can check if there has been any outage reported with your FiOS account.
However, if you see an outage online, you can use the site to report it or call the company directly to find out what’s going on.
8. Wait For Storms To Pass
Cable companies have been known to cause interference when their lines get wet or there are storms. If it’s storming out, you can wait for the storm to pass to see if that caused interference.
Additionally, the power company may use temporary power lines for repairs and maintenance, which could cause you to lose your cable box if you are within close proximity of them.
9. Contact Verizon
If the Verizon cable box is not working, you might want to contact Verizon to see if someone can come out to fix it.
It could be that your cable box is defective, or there could be a problem with the cable running to you, but I would guess it is something as simple as your television is not receiving a signal from the correct cable box, but rather the other box.
How Do You Reset Verizon Cable Box?
To fix it, you have to unplug the power supply from the cable box and router.
You have to reboot the router as well as the television.
If you don’t do this there is a good chance you could damage the cable box/hub.

or, you can force update the cable box’s software, by going to your cable box’s on-screen menu and selecting the “update cable box software” option.
Make sure the cable box/television is connected securely to your TV and the HDMI cable is plugged into the TV, and not the cable box.
