With Verizon’s routers, you have to do some troubleshooting on your own. But thankfully, we have solutions ready for you.
Oh, that’s good to hear!  But if I’m reading correctly, you’ve apparently already tried all of those things which is why I’m going to talk about a trick I like to use when the router gets stuck at “Attempting to connect to the internet” or something similar to that.  I’ll make things a bit easier for you so I’m going to jump right into it.
Verizon Router Not Working In 2022
If you are unable to access the router’s login screen, you’ll need to reset it. You will first open up the device and remove any batteries that may be inside. Next, you’ll need to turn off the router. Once you have done this, turn it back on in order to make sure it is working.
1. Make sure you unplug it first and then turn off power. When the router is shut down, the router won’t work properly.
2. Make sure you get the latest firmware updates. It’s usually found in the “Settings” area of your router.
1. Check Your Cables
One of the biggest problems with a wireless router is that it is not plugged in all the way. This is especially the case with an outdoor router that is in the back of a vehicle or in a tent.
If your router has an ethernet port directly connected to your internet source, you should have a power supply cord from it.
To ensure that the cables are good, you should also check that they are in good condition and that they aren’t frayed or bitten.
2. Make Sure Your Power Outlet Works & Is On
To check your power outlets, plug into a live power outlet and check the power supply is working.
If you want to make sure that your computer will work on different power supplies, just unplug it and plug it in again. That should clear up the problems.
3. Unplug Your Router & Plug It Back In
After you unplug your Router from it’s power supply, you could try to see if it is “rebooting” itself.
So, if you can’t sign into your router settings, there might be trouble with your network settings.
It will be better to wait a few minutes before trying to open a website like Facebook or Youtube to see if it works!
4. Restart Your Device
Sometimes, when your internet is acting up, it could be difficult to know why. But, if you restart the device you’re using to connect to the Internet, sometimes that will fix the issue.
Also, restarting your device might fix problems such as lag, glitches, and other issues that may cause problems with your Internet.
5. Switch to Another Device
The problem might be with the router or the device, so try to find a way to get the router signal from the device so you can know.
6. Reset Your Router
You can reset your router in order to fix the connection. This is done by using a safety pin and pushing that button on the back of the router.
Resetting your routers factory settings should restore it to its factory settings and include the name and password.
Additionally, you’ll lose any preferences or settings you had customized if you reset your router.
How to Reset (Reset Router)
If you want to set everything back to the factory default configuration, reset the router.
This will clear most of your settings — including your home network connection.
7. Change The Router Channel
You should try changing the router channel instead of re-installing the router software once you notice problems. Changing the router channel is fairly easy to do.
Log into your Fios account.
Find Your Fios Cable TV Service in You menu.
Choose My Services and My Account from the top of the menu.
Choose Account Settings, and then choose Customer Support.
Click the router icon in front of the channel that you’re on.
You can change the channel as well.
Also, Most Verizons routers are set to channel 6 as default since thats what 2.4 GHz is, so you might find changing to channel 13 or 14 provides a better connection!
8. Update Your Firmware
Updates are an essential part of maintaining a good Internet connection, and that includes your router, which may not work correctly if it hasn’t been updated in a long time.
Therefore, please check your router’s manual or go to the router manufacturer’s website and look for a firmware update.
Also, if you can share the detailed router firmware update instructions you have used, this might help others facing the same issue.
9. Try Again In A Few Minutes
I recommend trying to reconnect to the modem and router again (after waiting a while for it to finish whatever it’s doing) and see if that resolves the issue.
10. Check Verizon For Outages
You can log into your Verizon account and see that there is a problem with your Internet. You can also check if your router is working by connecting your modem to your router, not your computers.
The app also keeps track of your cell number so that when you call Customer Service, they can verify your number.
11. Contact Verizon
If you can’t get your Verizon router to work, you may need to contact Verizon to see if there is a problem with your account or with equipment in your location. Try to turn your device off, then turn it back on to make sure that it is operating correctly.
Additionally, an individual may need to come out and take a look at your equipment to see if something is defecting or needs to be replaced.
Why Is My Verizon Router Not Working?
The main reason why your Verizon router is not working is because of a bad connection (signal loss, or dropped connection).
There was a problem with the router, and I just had to unplug and re-connect it.
