If you live in the United States: You should try to withdraw US Dollars from your bank account, rather than traveler’s checks, to help avoid international transaction fees.
If you live in another country: Contact your bank or credit card company for more information on where you can withdraw US Dollars.
Note that the US Dollar (USD) is widely used as a global currency in international travel.
You can also check out the Walmart website to see if the store is going to be open on a regular basis or if it’s open on holidays.

When you’re using traveler’s checks to purchase something at Walmart, go to the check-out counter and pass your travelers checks to the cashier. You will receive the change back in cash in return.

Walmart stores charge a fee of $400 for checks up to $1,000 and $900 for checks over $5,000.

Walmart accepts any of the following credit cards: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, VISA, and JCB.
Unfortunately, Walmart does not accept credit or debit card payments directly.
