In the event of a divorce you can never subpoena text messages and even if you can you can not hold them for anything more than 10 days.

The information you are looking for is in My Verizon Account. If you want to see the previous 3 weeks of text messages you can go into your account and view your 3 week history. However, Verizon stores your text messages for the last 10 years by default.
