How Many Stamps Do I Need for a Card at USPS In 2022?
Standard-size greeting cards require 1 Forever Stamp. Adding a gift card or photos usually doesn’t require more postage. But in 2022, cards that are irregularly shaped, contain decorative elements, or are rigid will require additional postage. This fee can be paid using 1 non-machinable stamp, or by adding additional ounce stamps to your Forever Stamp in 2022.
If you still have more questions about how many stamps you need when mailing a card, then make sure to check the guide out!
How Many Stamps Do I Need for a Greeting Card?
If a greeting card is of a standard size and is less than 1 ounce then 1 Forever Stamp is all that is needed to cover the cost of postage.
It must have a border and have a clear image on the front and back of the card.
It must be the size of an “A” card.
If your card did not meet any of these criteria, then it is not a standard-sized card, and you cannot use the standard USPS return address.
You can make the standard-sized card yourself, and there is software available to print an image onto the card, and then put a paper seal over the image and fold it.
You can also use the software to print a standard size paper-sealed return label. This is how it looks when you print it.
You need to arrange for additional postage if you are sending a card that is square, oversized, has 3-D elements, is made of a stiff material like wood, or is covered with polywrap.
When you mail something that’s not able to go through an automated sorting machine, it must be hand sorted at a customer service center.
For this reason, it’s a common misconception that a letter/parcel only works if it’s able to go through automated sorting machines.
The nonmachinable surcharge is simply a fee added to the ticket price for each ticket you buy. It covers the cost of sorting your hand-written ticket orders by hand.
Now I just need to find someone willing to do the sorting!
All the USPS will provide is the rate for First-Class mail which will cover the postal surcharge, a fee that must be paid per mail piece.
To help consumers and to make it easier for consumers, the USPS and the Greeting Card Association both use butterflies to indicate the need for non-machinable stamps.
A single butterfly stamp is used in a variety of designs for the various greeting card companies. The stamps are made by the Stazione della Vergata in Bologna, Italy.
How Many Forever Stamps Do I Need for a Card?
Most 1 Forever stamps will cover the cost of postage for a standard sized card, but if the stamp is heavier than 1 ounce, then you will have to pay postage.
You can apply multiple Forever stamps to one card, and if you need to cover the extra postage fees, you can use up to four stamps.
At this price, it may not make much sense to post one of these stamps from another country.
However, if you’re attaching the card to another card, it’s a different story. As there is no charge for a card that has another card attached to it, there is no limit what cards can be attached to each other.
However, this does not affect the use of multiple Forever stamps at the Post office. While it is possible to add more images to a card, the cost of doing so is prohibitive.

This answer is only intended as a guideline. You should contact Customer Service or the manufacturer for more information.
When mailing a package with one Forever Stamp, you may mail it for a postage rate of just $0.34. To mail a package with two Forever Stamps, you may mail it for $0.68. To mail a package with three Forever Stamps, you may mail it for $0.82. And so on.
If you don’t have a kitchen or postal scale, send it with enough extra postage to make up for the difference. They may not be able to see the extra postage, but they can subtract it from the total weight.
If you go to a post office and ask for change, they will usually tell you how much you owe.

For every 15 to 21 photos taken during your trip, you’ll need 1 Forever Stamp and 2 additional stamps in your country.
It is important to look at the weight of your envelopes when figuring out the right postage for them. You also need to be careful not to weight your mail so much that it reaches beyond the maximum thickness for cards.
You can send 25 photos at a time without going over limit.
How Many Stamps Do I Need for a Pop-Up Card?
If your cards do not contain special elements (such as pop-up or window), you do not need extra postage.
There is a butterfly logo at the back of your card. You’ll need to add an additional stamp of $0.88 so you can remove the flap.
If you’re concerned about whether your credit card is valid, have a postal clerk weigh and/or measure your card. That way you’ll know exactly what you owe.

Conclusion
Most greeting cards only require 1 Forever Stamp. In most cases, you can even get away with including a gift card and a few snapshots without having to add more stamps at the post office.
The one downside on FSP is that you cannot add additional ounce stamps to a stamp card. You can only add one ounce stamp per stamp card.
