Apple has rolled out Apple Pay, which will allow you to pay for most of your shopping without taking your wallet or cash with you. How convenient, right?
Unfortunately, Kroger does not accept Apple Pay. Kroger has integrated and launched their very own version of Apple Pay called, Kroger Pay.
Similar to Apple Pay, you download the Kroger Pay app on your mobile device. It’s a very cool and convenient app to use as it also integrates with your existing Kroger membership and reward points, making checkout seamless.
Kroger does offer something called “Kroger Pay,” which allows you to pay for groceries, clothes, and other goods with a Kroger card by scanning a code at a self-checkout machine.
This is not the same as Apple Pay, so if you want to use Apple Pay, make sure it’s at one of the stores where they have accepted it.

Using Your iPhone To Make a Payment At Kroger
Most people have an iPhone in their pocket. Most people also shop at Kroger. Now you can use your iPhone to make a payment at Kroger.
All you have to do is download the Kroger app and link your Kroger card to it. It only takes a few minutes, and you’ll never have to worry about lugging around cash or credit cards again.
The Kroger app allows customers to:
- Scan product barcodes and see nutritional information on the spot.
- Get a list of items you’ve purchased in a specific order.
- Check your balance on a gift card.
- Find the closest store, including hours of operation.
Where Is Kroger Pay Accepted?
Kroger is the third-largest supermarket chain in the United States, with stores in 34 states. It has been reported that Kroger Pay, an app that allows customers to pay for their groceries with their smartphones, is now accepted at all Kroger locations.
Kroger has partnered with MCX, a consortium of merchants and retailers, to allow customers to pay for their groceries using a mobile app. The app can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play Store and is free to download.
Customers will have the option of adding a Kroger card to their app or logging in with a previously created account. Once they have selected items from the store’s shelves they want to purchase and scanned them into the app, they can then select a payment method and complete their purchase.
What Are Different Payment Methods Accepted at Kroger?
Kroger is a large grocery store that is most known for its food selection. They are also known for their wide selection of payment methods. Kroger does offer credit cards, debit cards, EBT cards, checks, and cash.
They also have other non-traditional payment methods that are accepted, including Krogers own credit card, Kroger gift card, and any other major credit card excluding American Express. Some of their in-store methods include:
Kroger Credit Card
The Kroger credit card is a store card that Kroger and Synchrony Bank created. This is not a traditional credit card and is not like any other store card. The Kroger credit card does require some approval to use the card.
This approval process will depend on your history at Kroger, and you can apply for a credit card at their store. If you do not get approved for the credit card, you can still use the standard payment methods like cash, debit cards, EBT cards, and checks.
Kroger Debit Cards
Kroger offers two different debit cards; one is called a store loyalty program debit card, and the other is a branded debit card. The loyalty program debit cards are free, and you can get one just by signing up at Kroger’s website for their loyalty program.
You can also sign up for this directly at checkout if you prefer not to sign up online. These cards are accepted everywhere that accepts Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or American Express. These cards also have no monthly fees or overdraft fees.
Kroger EBT Cards
Kroger accepts EBT cards in all their stores. You can use your EBT card in any store that accepts Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or American Express.
This includes Kroger’s own branded cards. Kroger also accepts all government-issued EBT cards, including SNAP, WIC, and all other types of EBT cards.
Kroger Checks
Kroger accepts personal checks in most of their locations so long as you have a valid check guarantee card.
This is different than a check guarantee card for an individual account because it is a card that guarantees any check being written by the holder of the card. You can apply for this type of check guarantee card at the store.
What Are The Other Contactless Payment Methods Kroger Accepts?
There are many different types of payment methods that Kroger accepts. Kroger offers many different contactless payment methods. Contactless payment methods allow customers to make purchases without physically swiping their credit card or cash through the machine.
Kroger also accepts credit cards, debit cards, and Apple Pay. In addition to accepting Apple Pay, Kroger also accepts Google Pay as a payment method.
To make a payment using any of these methods, shoppers must have the Kroger app downloaded on their phone or use the Kroger website.
Which Stores Accept Apple Pay?
