The average US citizen drinks about a gallon of milk a day. This is a very good thing because it has many nutrients and a good amount of protein. Milk has also been found to be good for the bones and teeth of children.
So far, Aldi milk comes from cows who are either owned by Aldi farms or have been put down because they can not produce milk anymore. The cows are then milked and processed into a variety of brands, Aldi includes.
Where Does Aldi Milk Come From In 2022?
When you open your fridge to find your bottle of milk, take a closer look at where it was sourced. Is it full-fat, low-fat, skimmed, organic, a particular type of milk, pasteurized, homogenized, etc.? Look at the ingredients of the milk to see if it’s the one you purchased or if it’s a different dairy product.
How Can I Find Out Exactly Where My Aldi Milk Was Sourced?
The Internet can actually tell you that your milk is coming from the same place as your other milk and butter.
Here is how it works: Visit the website, enter your code, and you will get a product sheet from the plant where your milk has been collected. The website shows all the different plants that process your milk.
But the MilkBoard is different. It doesn’t require you to go to where your milk is delivered. It’s free, but you have to register to use it.
The “Real Seal” stamp ensures that all of the milk products in their stores are produced in the U.S., and meet standards set by the USDA.
Is Aldi Milk As Good As Name Brand Milk?
Aldi does not use the same suppliers in France as the supermarkets. If they used the same suppliers the labels would have to be the same, but that is not the case.
Aldi uses many of the same farms and processing plants as other name brand brands, but they are able to produce their own milk with a different business model that allows for more cost cutting.
How Is Aldi Milk So Much Cheaper?
It is a fact that Aldi will try to squeeze out its competitors. This has been proven in the past.
The cost of milk and Aldi’s other products are so low because the stores are run on a high-efficiency model that allows them to pass savings on to consumers.
Is Aldi Milk Ethically Sourced?
[Aldi’s website] claims that our milk suppliers guarantee that our milk is hormone/rBST-free.
The study also found that the cows were more likely to be treated with antibiotics than cows in other countries, raising the likelihood that they could be spreading antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The researchers note that antibiotics used on the same farms could have a common source, although they can not prove it.
The lack of hormones means the cows don’t have ovulations, which means there are no hormones in the cow’s milk and dairy products. This is bad for us because hormones make milk an even better food source for us.
I’m so excited to learn about my favorite grocer’s efforts in this area, and I look forward to seeing what they do to make sure all of our products are as tasty as they are ethical.
In a move that should make the average vegan proud, they have also committed to making their ingredients organic, free from animal ingredients, and cruelty-free (i.e. no testing on animals, or on animals which are in use as laboratory or product testing).
They said that they would not tolerate animal abuse or animal neglect in their supply chain and they asked all of their suppliers to do the same.
