Target Clearance Return Policy In 2022
If you bought an open-box item, that you still have in its original packaging at home, you can bring it back to most Target stores and we’ll gift it to you. No receipt is required. You can also return an open-box item to the Target app, provided that you have your original receipt.
If you are a Target customer you can return items without a receipt to a store.
You can return items up to 30 days from the date of purchase without a receipt.
How Do I Return Clearance Items At Target?
Clearance items purchased online may be returned to any store using the original receipt or a Target.com printout or an email confirmation showing a Target delivery or shipping confirmation.
Returned items purchased at Target.com can be returned for free through the mail, as long as the shipping error was on Target’s behalf.
If you are a Target Guest, you can return or exchange eligible Target Online Returns items in our Target store by visiting any Target store.
If you are an enrolled Target member, visit your local Target store to return eligible items. If you are not a Target Guest, you will be unable to return eligible Target online Returns items to your local Target store.
Additionally, once you have purchased your return item at Target.com and selected the shipping method, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.
The customer should wait at least 4 business days before making a claim.
The option to request a refund through the Online Return Centre may take 5 days to process.
Can I Return Clearance Items To Target Without A Receipt?
If you can provide alternative proof of purchase like e-mailing us photos of the item with your package, the store will let you return the item for a refund.
Target will keep your order online with them if you purchased it via a RedCard, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, personal check, or Target gift card (which you must have retained).

Unfortunately, Target does not take returns on clearance items. You can return the clearance items within 90 days.
This restriction may not be as extreme as it sounds, but it’s still important to note that any time you purchase a clearance item, you are subject to the status of the item, and are unable to claim partial refunds for clearance items.
