- Academy Sports + Outdoors stores number nearly 300. They all follow a corporate pet policy which allows customers to bring their pets inside, even though it’s not public.

- The Barnes & Noble store manager decides on the canine policy. Some stores don’t allow dogs but there are many businesses that do. When you ask the customer service representative about whether they allow pets in their stores and what the policies are, they might not be forthcoming.
Customers might use “safety” and comfort to justify not allowing dogs. Call ahead to find out their pet policy and any restrictions before you bring your four-legged friend to the store.
- Camping World has over 100 locations that are dog-friendly. Only one rule is that your dog must be on a leash.
- Gap stores are by default dog-friendly. Many retail stores have policies that ban all dogs except service animals. If one of your guests has a dog allergy, or is afraid of your pet, you could be asked to leave.
- Half Price Books encourages customers calling their local store to confirm whether they allow dogs. However, most stores allow dogs.
- Some Macy’s stores do not allow dogs but most of them do. They must first follow the rules of the mall in which they are located. The management of each store determines whether other pets are allowed in the mall. Many customers were satisfied, especially those with small dogs.
- While some Pottery Barn locations don’t allow dogs, most do. It is important to call the store before you visit.
