What does Barnes & Noble’s Instore Animal Policy mean?

Why can’t you take non-service dogs into Barnes & Noble stores?

This means that B&N stores may allow dogs to enter their stores if they feel it is appropriate. They can, however, use the same discretion to request that you remove your dog from the store if it becomes disruptive or dangerous.
Unless you have a service pet, no Barnes & Noble stores will allow your dog to enter the coffee shop areas. This is because Barnes & Noble does not allow it.
What does a Service Animal Look Like?
Many service dogs wear clearly marked vests and harnesses. Some service dogs may have identification tags and collars. Service dogs don’t have to have this type of equipment.
An ID card is the best form of identification for a service animal. It will be carried by its owner.
They are well trained and are calm and do not react to any situations. They do not act aggressively, disobey, or unruly. They are taught to be calm in all situations.
It is becoming more common for people to buy service dog vests for their pets and allow their dogs to access almost all public places. Recognizing a service dog is more difficult than it was in the past.
