Wayfair’s online store is filled with everything from home décor to furniture, and they’ve got a really nice site and helpful reviews and ratings.
And all of those things combined have made Wayfair one of the largest online home goods stores in the world.
Similarly, Walmart is the largest general retailer on the planet, and it is also the largest retailer of furniture, but you may have noticed the same products on Amazon.com.
I can’t tell if Walmart controls Wayfair with this information because it’s not clear. I did discover that Wayfair is owned by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), which is a big IT consulting group.

Jake Blakeman, a Wayfair employee who commented on a Quora post, thinks that Wayfair used to partner with Walmart.
He continues saying that “…And since my local store is owned by Amazon, I can’t even get a decent replacement if it goes out of business.” I don’t know if there’s any evidence of this either.
Amazon won’t sell items on Walmart’s Marketplace now. I can’t find any actual, confirmable data to support this claim.
But we are hearing that Walmart and Wayfair had some sort of relationship that they worked on. It was just a few weeks ago.
Walmart’s interest in Wayfair was considered the “biggest threat” to the e-commerce retailer’s position as king of the online furniture market.
In 2018, Wayfair’s revenue peaked at $10.9 billion and the stock price hit an annual high of nearly $400 per share in December.
 Walmart may not be interested in acquiring Bed Bath & Beyond but the analyst claims that the home goods retailer could be a  good fit for Walmart.
In any case, the author suggested that a merger or acquisition between Walmart and Wayfair would impede the latter’s growth, and that Walmart will miss that opportunity.
Although the relationship between these two companies is more fiction than fact.
Well, I think the two have moved so far apart in terms of business model and target market, that there will likely not be any further connections forged in the future.

The company was created by the founders of the retail website Wayfair.com. It was not acquired by Walmart.
Steve Conine, the owner of the company, had recently been in trouble with the IRS for failure to pay his taxes.
While Shah and Conine are in the same company as each other, Shah is the current CEO.
Can You Return Wayfair Items To Walmart?
While it does not seem like you can return Wayfair items to Walmart, it’s true that you cannot.
I know that the company was formed at the same time, the Walmart stores came later, and it has a similar focus. However, I don’t know if it’s directly related.
I know the companies came together in the last few years. I don’t know the extent of the relationship between them, and my main source of information about the companies is a couple of people on social media that are fans of both companies.
Even if you purchased an item from Walmart’s Marketplace, you will need to contact the seller for a return. The Marketplace is not a substitute for a normal return policy as all items are sold at a set price.
You are allowed to return or exchange the product within 30 days of purchase, but you have to do that directly with the seller.
It’s a shame, because it’s a great idea, and it would make it easy to get your stuff back, but it’s just too complicated for the average shopper.
I’ve had a good experience with Wayfair returns. I do wish it took more of their returned items into account for their return rate.

Also, while it may be true that Wayfair items are not listed for sale anywhere (a policy that could be seen as suspicious), you can still find them through Amazon, and you will even have the option of paying using a credit card or PayPal.

Conclusion
The founder of Walmart did not have the original idea for Walmart’s stores. He started the retail giant out of his garage in Arkansas and had no idea it would be so successful.
I’m not sure they really need to be concerned about Walmart acquiring Wayfair, as long as the business model isn’t drastically changed. As long as Walmart can purchase similar or more products in their stores than what they sell online, this won’t be an issue.
