If you’re looking to buy a gift card, Target accepts both prepaid Visa and MasterCard gift cards at all store locations and online as of 2022, and accepts both prepaid credit gift cards and physical gift cards like those issued by Nordstrom and Macy’s.
Prepaid Visa and MasterCard gift cards give you the flexibility to use them wherever Visa is accepted and where Visa is accepted.
You can use them to pay for items in stores, online and in certain restaurants.
You can use them to pay for travel and other purchases.
If you have a prepaid card, you can use it to make daily purchases, pay your bills, and even redeem gift cards or cash back.
How Do You Pay With A Visa or MasterCard Gift Card In-Store At Target?

If you see a blue box with a red and black striped border, its the CVV code, which is required.
What Can You Use A Visa Or MasterCard Gift Card For At Target?
Visa cards are usually accepted at Target Stores, Target.com, Target mobile website, and the Target app.
MasterCard cards are also usually accepted at Target Stores, Target.com, Target mobile website, and the Target app. However, some Target locations do not accept MasterCard cards. You can check at the front desk to see if your Target location will accept MasterCard cards.
But, there are certain purchase restrictions–prepaid Visa or MasterCard gift cards cannot be used for ATM transactions, cash advances, or for lottery purchases (which are categorized as casino trading).
The only way you can purchase a gift card with a credit card is to buy a gift card using Target’s in-store app.

If you haven’t downloaded the Target Wallet, it’s an app for your Android or iPhone that allows you to use your debit card to pay in-store at Target or earn rewards.
