Risk Belle, the favorite in the 100,000 EUR RYBO handicap hurdle, required assistance from the stewards to secure the win, but ultimately justified her status as the favorite.
Sean Doyle’s Monbeg Park crossed the finish line first, beating Mullins’ 7/2 market leader by half a length. However, during the race, Risk Belle was knocked off her stride with half a furlong to go. Brian Lawless, the jockey of Monbeg Park, attempted to keep his horse away from Risk Belle, but it continued to swerve to the right.
JP McManus was pleased to welcome back three winners, which made for a great day for jockey Mark Walsh. It was his first day back in action since Cheltenham and he was happy to secure a double.
