Sen. Voinovich: No to tapping oil reserves

Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio.) does not believes that America should tap into the Stategic Petroleum Reserves to relieve high gas prices. Voinovich says that he is “worried” about America’s national security and for a slight reduction in the cost of oil does not think it’s worth the risk to open the reserve. (0:51)

Markey says releasing oil works

Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) says past releases of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve have driven down prices. He says oil prices fell 33.4 percent when President George H.W. Bush released oil in 1991, by 18.7 percent under President Clinton in 2000, and by 9.1% by President George W. Bush following Hurricane Katrina. (0:46)
