The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties met to discuss the issuance of a subpoena to Douglas Feith, the former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy. Feith was scheduled to give witness at a hearing last Wednesday, but canceled his appearance four hours before its scheduled time. The investigation into the administration’s interrogation policies and legal justifications continued before the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties. Congressmen Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) held a conference call with fellow congressmen Joseph Crowley (D-NY) and Mike Ferguson (R-NJ) about the passing of HR-185. The resolution urges the Congress to recognize the Jewish refugee situation in the Middle East. Speakers from different Jewish organizations took also part in the conference and talked about the importance of recognizing the “unjust” situation in the Middle East.
According to the all speakers, the regular sympathy towards the Palestinians should be changed and people should be educated about the Jews as well.
