Sen. Harkin: The Harsh Reality Is Employers Can Still Fire Based On Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity

At a Senate HELP Committee hearing Thursday, Chairman Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) showed his support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, stating “the harsh reality is employers in most states in this country can fire, refuse to hire or otherwise discriminate against individuals because of their sexual orientation or gender identity … and they can do so within the law.” (0:46)
