Accurate Census Is a Civil Rights “Imperative”

Wade Henderson, President of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, calls the need for an accurate census count in 2010 “imperative.” Henderson and other civil rights advocates are urging Congress to ensure that Gulf states that experienced population loss in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2004 are treated fairly in next year’s census.
