Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) points out that 522,000 more jobs have been lost, placing the blame on President Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) economic policy. Price says that the American people have lost faith in Pelosi and her “spin” (0:27)

    Price has shown from past statements that economics is not his strong suit. When he and his fellow Republicans grimly claim that the stimulus has been a failure, they don’t bother to remind anyone that only about 10% of the stimulus has “hit the street”.

    Although, the stimulus package was too small and laden heavy with less effective measures (ie. tax cuts), we should either further bolster the economy or wait to see how the remainder of the stimulus package shakes-out.

    Price wants to claim that Obama and Pelosi have failed us. He wants congress to rescind the remaining 90% of the stimulus package. With the economy, as predicted, still in decline, Price’s prescription is either ignorant and dangerous or dishonest.
