Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar explains that in times of difficulty, the U.S. often focuses on the country’s natural landscapes. Salazar says that this was the case with Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Franklin Roosevelt, all of whom contributed to the U.S. conservation effort (0:43)
