Clinton On Working With Hamas
By Kayleigh Harvey – Talk Radio News Service
At a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing today on foreign policy priorities for the Obama administration, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made clear the administrations position on working with the Palestinian political group Hamas. She said, “The President’s policy…is very clear, we will not deal with, nor in any way fund, a Palestinian government that includes Hamas unless and until Hamas has renounced violence, recognized Israel and agreed to follow the previous obligations of the Palestinian authority. That is our policy, but we want to leave open the door so that can happen.”

Sec. of State Clinton has justified my concern that she is too pro-Israel to be an honest broker in the Middle East and negotiate a just peace agreement between Israeli Jews and the Palestinians. Sec. of State Clinton has deliberately undermined the 2-State Solution Peace Agreement between Israel and the Palestinians by making it contingent on Hamas renouncing violence, recognizing Israel, and upholding the previous obligations of the Palestinian Authority. Sec. of State Clinton knows full well that Hamas will not comply with these conditions and noncompliance will end any possible peace agreement. The Secretary claims she is just upholding international conditions but it is unfair to demand the Palestinians comply with international conditions, and not Israel. There are international conditions and UN Resolutions requiring Israel to return occupied land to the Palestinians, stop illegal settlement, lift the blockade on Gaza, and stop demolishing Palestinian homes. Israel has not complied with any of these conditions and Sec. of State Clinton is not requiring Israel’s compliance. The Israeli government has made it clear that it does not favor a 2-State Solution Peace Agreement and Sec. of State Clinton seems to be appeasing the Israelis by imposing conditions on the Palestinians to takes it off the table. SHAME ON SEC. OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON and the US!!!
