Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) stressed in a Joint Economic Committee hearing today the importance of the economic recovery package and how it needs to make its way as soon as possible. Today the Bureau of Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported that the unemployment rate has risen from 7.2 to 7.6 percent. (2:26)
