Tensions reached breaking point after Georgian troops were ordered (by Saakashvili) to launch an attack on civilian population and peace keepers in South Ossetia, killing hundreds if not thousands. It would be interesting to know if there is any government in the world, that would ignore the killing of its citizens in thousands... Saakashvili is a maniac, but he is not stupid, so he new Russia would fight back. This was a planned provocation, for which thousands had to pay with their lives...
