Kenyan-born Edwin Okong’o, editor in chief of the Minneapolis-based newspaper Mshale, talks about the shortcomings of mainstream media in their coverage of African and immigrant issues with Talk Radio News Correspondent Elia Herman at the National Conference for Media Reform in Minneapolis. He focuses on the media’s failure to report accurately on the response of the Somali community to the shooting of a Somali teenager in Minneapolis. (11:42)
