Tim Roemer, President of the Center for National Policy poses a question to the panel at an event regarding "Who Rules Pakistan" to Husain Haqqani. The question was regarding an op-ed piece in The Washington Post regarding aid, whether it is money, military, or otherwise; to Pakistan and its desired effect on the political systems of Pakistan.

Haqqani responds to Roemer with the thought that the value of U.S. assistance to Pakistan needs to be first understood and then assessed. He also details that Pakistan has been living off of the rent of its ideal location and that Pakistan as a nation honestly did not believe the requirements of the Pressler Amendment would ever be imposed.
