Senate bill proposes to criminalize distribution of deceptive literature in federal elections
Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) co-sponsors a senate bill that would make voter deception and intimidation during federal elections punishable by law. False literature that targeted minority communities has been distributed in past elections, suppressing voter turnout. He says he hopes to have the bill passed before the next federal election.
