Russian Parliament Committee on International Affairs Chairman Konstantin Kosachev shared his thoughts on U.S. plans on building a missile defense system in Eastern Europe.

Kosachev said that if U.S. truly intends to protect European allies from threats from Iran and other countries, the system should be placed further south. In addition, on the U.S. claim that the system also would protect northwestern Russia, Kosachev said that Russia have not asked U.S. for "that kind of protection."
