General Richard Cody, witness at today’s House Armed Service Hearing on the adequacy of the FY2008 National Defense Authorization Budget Request to meet readiness needs, talks about our lack of non deployed forces.

Posted by Staff on March 13, 2007 |

Cody says that today’s soldiers are the best trained, best equipped and best led soldiers we have ever sent in to combat. Cody says that this is on the expense of the non -deployed soldiers and after 5 years of combat we are stretched thin. He says to sustain the readiness of our deployed soldiers we need congressional support. To keep up we need to grow our army in a balanced and coordinated fashion and providing adequately for the needs our soldiers and their families. (0:49)
