Amy Wilkins, Vice President of The Education Trust, says that there are 3 main problems with No Child Left Behind, including the refusal of the Dept. of Education to implement the provisions that were passed, state resistance and problems with the statute itself at the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing on the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind.
Wilkins says that the Dept. of Education needs to be pressed for better implementation of No Child Left Behind and that we need to identify effective teachers who can improve high poverty schools. (0:53)
