Sharon Parrot, Director of the Welfare Reform and Income Support Division at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, points out that President Bush’s budget is missing some costly items such as the continuing costs of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan after 2009.

During a conference call concerning the report "President’s budget would cut deeply into important public services and adversely affect states," Parrot states that the cuts proposed by President’s budget represent only the tip of the iceberg of what will be needed in the future. (0:32)
