At the full committee hearing on the nomination of Michael Hayden to be director of the CIA at the Hart Senate Office Building, Russ Feingold (D-WI) questions the legality of the wire tapping program.
Russ Feingold (D-WI) states that he believes the wire tapping program to be illegal and poorly handled. He poses the question "what kind of CIA director would (Hayden) be" because he vigorously defended this "illegal" program just because the president thought it would be "politically convenient."
