John Perkins says that as an "economic hit man" he coerced Third World countries to take out large loans, which left them indebted.

Perkins reveals that while working as an economic hit man for the United States he was sent into developing nations with rich resources so he could convince political leaders to commit to extensive infrastructure projects. This left the nations in debt and benefited the wealthy.
