Jackson appeals to an assembled group at the Katrina Reconstruction Summit for a broader view of the damage from Hurricane Katrina. He notes that New Orleans’ visibility in the national consciousness may adversely affect equally-as-damaged areas in Mississippi and Alabama by causing those places to not receive adequate attention and resources.
