During a teleconference on obesity, Parris Glendening, former governor of Maryland (D-MD), reports that obesity rates in the US have continued to increase in the past year.

Glendening states approximately 64% of adults are reportedly obese. The federal government hopes to decrease obesity numbers to about 15% by the end of the year 2010. (:49)
