Senator McCain (R-AZ) suggests an alternative method to Amtrak subsidizing at the Senate hearing on the Manager’s Amendment to Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act of 2005

McCain says that it would be a better idea to budget any Amtrak subsidies rather than giving them "all the dough" right away. According to McCain, this will help protect the tax payers and will help make Amtrak more responsible. (:41)
