Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) questions Patricia Mitchell, president and CEO of the Public Broadcasting Service, on whether or not PBS can survive without government funding at Senate hearing.

Mitchell likened the funding of PBS to the funding of public libraries and says the tax-payer dollars are "hugely important" for local stations. Mitchell never definitively answers if PBS can survive without government funding or not. (1:23)
