Damon Silvers, Associate General Council for the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (ALF-CIO), says on a Public Citizen conference briefing call that the SEC Chairman shapes the direction of the SEC.

Silvers explains that because the SEC has two people of each party the Chairman is usually the deciding vote. He fears that Rep. Christopher Cox’s record of supporting deregulating the market could do tremendous damage to the economy. (:51)
