Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) says it is not right that the money going toward AIDS is being shifted from other programs.
Sen. Patrick Leahy says that he agrees with President Bush that he should worry about AIDS. Leahy says that money was supposed to be new money, but more and more they’ve discovered that the money is being taken away from other programs. America has been blessed with the greatest security, greatest wealth, and greatest prosperity of any nation in recorded history, Leahy says, and, as such, has a moral obligation to help others. If the United States doesn’t help those in need, it fails as a nation. (1:46)
