Representative Rush Holt (D-NJ) explains why he feels it is foolish to amend the Constitution to prohibit flag desecration.

Representative Rush Holt (D- NJ), during his speech at the annual convention of Americans for Democratic Action, suggests that the most recent attempt by Congress to create an amendment to the United States Constitution which would prohibit the desecration of the American flag is taking attention away from other issues that need attention. Holt also expresses his wish that more of his colleagues would support voting the amendment down.
