President’s Schedule:

The President had his usual round of briefings. Then he met with the crew and spouses of the International Space Station. He will meet with the Secretary General of the Organization of American States. They will be discussing the meeting which will take place at the OAS in Florida. The President will hold a news conference in The Rose Garden at 10:45 this morning. He will also meet with a woman who is representing Venezuela in the Civil Society Forum.

Press Conference:

The President will make opening remarks and talk about how the economy is getting stronger. He will discuss the Energy Bill and his priorities for that. Also on the agenda is his concern about the budget and passing CAFTA and Social Security.

French Decision on the European Union:

Scott gave the usual ‘non’ answer about the importance of the United States and the EU working together and expanding efforts of democracy and freedom.

Vice President Cheney and First Lady Laura Bush:

Scott said the Dick Cheney and Mrs. Bush look forward to returning to Texas.
