Ret. Colonel Pat Lang, who served already in Vietnam, compares the dangerous situation caused by insurgencies today in Iraq with Vietnam. In Saigon you could walk around in a way you never could in Baghdad today, he says at a Jamestown Foundation Panel about the situation in the Middle East. (:45)

    It must be a world of horror to you sir. I believe that nobody else on this planet has the right to compare world and wars than veterans and militarily involved citizens such as your self. I am not very keen on what is happening in Iraq this very moment but from what I heard and previous research, I can too say that this war has got to be the most gory, dangerous, and unexplainable war this world as seen. Not to mention that Russia is siezing Georgia as well this very moment. This world has gone nutz
