Nils J. Diaz, Ph.D., Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Committee says the NRC has made it very difficult to for anybody to do any radiological harm to Amercians.

Diaz says nuclear facilities are very safe but as everything else in life nothing is absolutely safe, he stresses the fact that our nuclear facilities are not risk free. He says further that the NRC is very well prepared to protect and to handle any case of radiological release. (1:08)
