Donald M. Hooten, the Director, Chairman, and President of Taylor Hooten Foundation, and father of high school baseball player Taylor Hooten, who committed suicide after steroid use asks "what message are you sending to are you sending to our sons and daughters?"
At the House hearing on steroid use, Hooten asks what message athletes using steroids are sending: that they are above the law, that they can continue to deny their behavior and get away with it, or that somehow you are not a cheater unless you get caught. He goes on to say that the children have already judged and convicted these players, but instead of sentencing them they are following the example.(1:03)
