Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), ranking member on the Senate Appropriations Committee, speaks about the President’s supplemental request for $81 billion.
Byrd states that we owe troops a clearly defined strategy with benchmarks and an identifiable endpoint. Moreover, Byrd says the President is asking Congress to shovel more money towards Iraq without further clarity as to what goals the military is to achieve and no end to the occupation in sight. (:57)
