Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) questions Director Robert Mueller of the Federal Bureau of Investigations about the slow progress of Trilogy.
Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), along with Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) and Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), in the hearing to examine the FBI Information Technology Program, quotes Director Robert Mueller’s words regarding the slow progress of Trilogy. Mueller stated that the creation of the Virtual Case File was supposed to be finished by the end of 2004. He pointed out that by the end of the project, the FBI would have cutting edge technology for an organization of its large size. Mueller also stated that funding for the project would be sufficient, costing a total of approximately $560 million dollars. However, when he testified in May 2004, the Virtual Case File was already on life support. (1:01)
