Senator Jon S. Corzine (D-NJ) expresses doubt that the Republican-backed plans for Social Security reform will be able to provide for America’s seniors.
Sen. Corzine says that the guaranteed minimum benefits offered using price indexing between 1940 and today would be 60% less than the benefits currently offered by Social Security. Sen. Corzine also says that unless the personal accounts supported by Republicans make up the difference the poverty line among seniors will rise. (:33)
